Abstract
Unlike functioning islet cell tumors of the pancreas, hormone production is not clinically evident in nonfunctioning neuroendocrine tumor. This type of tumor constituted about 15 to 20% of all islet cell tumors. Although identical to functioning
islet
cell tumors embriologically and histologically, the nonfunctioning tumor differ in presentation, location, size and the rate of malignancy. We experienced a case of the nonfunctioning malignant neuroendocrine tumor at the 67 year-old male
pancreas,
which was removed by total pancreatectomy. So we reported the case and reiewed the related literature briefly.
